When a client comes to a graphic designer with a project, it is their job to not only consider certain characteristics of the client’s situation and expectations but to mold those factors into a craftily designed creation that will make the client happy and leave you paid!
Ultimately, the graphic designer job description is, for the most part, completely dependent on the client. One thing that should be put first and foremost is the client’s needs and expectations. When it comes to creating anything, whether it be an illustration or an advertisement, a graphic designer is responsible for working around what the client wants, and is expected to provide outstanding customer service at the same time.
Graphic designers are artists in their own right because their job basically entails taking an idea and making it happen. Creativity is the key here, but so are qualities like sociability, reliability, and flexibility because the graphic designer job description is all about the client and what he or she needs, as it is generally for a company of some sort. Just remember the brochures that you flip through in the doctor’s office. While these brochures may be communicating information that you either don’t care about or don’t want to know about, it is the design and the color choice that attracts your eye first; not the “Health Care Concerns,” for instance, that attracts your attention!
